ALDER-

From Oera Linda Wiki

ALDER in ALDER-GÁ was interpreted by Jensma as Oude. Other translators did not translate it. Study of the word in other contexts suggests that it rather means of all (Dutch: aller-):

ALD — Oldest of all, Dutch: alleroudste

  • VSA ALDER ALDESTA SKRIFTUN
  • THET ALDER.ALDESTA JEFTHA OVER.ALDESTA

BEST — Best of all, Dutch: allerbeste

  • THA ALDERBESTE FRYASBERN
  • SIN ALDERBESTA STJÛRAR
  • SKIATA SA.R A ALDERBESTA MÉI

DRIST — Most daring/rebellious of all, Dutch: allerdrieste (rare, archaic)

  • THA ALDER.DRISTA MÀNNISKA (used twice in ch. T2a.)

GRÁT — Greatest (or largest) of all, Dutch: allergrootste

  • THI FON TEXLAND IS THA ALDERGRÁTESTE
  • ALDERGRÁTESTE THÉRA KÉNINGAR
  • THA ALDERGRÁTESTE Á.DISKA

MINEST — Least (most minor) of all, Dutch: allerminste

  • FÁRET ALDERMINESTA LIK FÉR.HÉMANDE BISKÁWADE

Other

  • ALDERLANGNE NÉI HJARA BIGRIPentirely (more lit.: eternally) under their control (see Koebler: alderlang)

Derived from ALD (old), probably:

  • HI WAS VRESTE ALDERMÀNalderman: lit.: elderman or man of all? Elsewhere ÔLDERMÔN was used twice. (Related to ULDERMANKES?)
  • VSA ÉNFALDA ALDERAour modest elders
