Jan Ott ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wijdenes Wijdenes], 1968) made a new transliteration of the Oera Linda texts and translated them from the original language into English. Between 2016 and 2018 this translation was proofread and improved by various native English volunteers. - 1968 December 25, 1:00 uur geboren te Wijdenes, Molenweg D7 (nu 77); zesde kind en derde zoon van Alewijn Ott (34 jaar, zuivelhandelaar) en Annie Kool (31).
- 1975 - 1981 Openbare basisschool Roelof van Wienesse, Wijdenes.
- 1981 - 1987 Rijksscholengemeenschap Westfriesland, Hoorn; na brugklas gymnasium; examenvakken Nederlands, Grieks, Engels, Wiskunde A, Wiskunde B, Natuurkunde, Scheikunde, Biologie.
- 1988 Januari - 1989 februari in Militaire dienst als kanonnier-muzikant bij de Artillerie; 2 maanden opleiding stuksbediening M110 te Breda, daarna 12 maanden gedetacheerd bij Artillerie Trompetterkorps (fanfare) te Garderen (Bes-bas).
- 1989 Mei t/m juli gewerkt in Schloß Elmau, Oberbayern.
- 1989 Augustus verhuisd naar Amsterdam: Olympiaweg 88I; later Lijndenstraat 38III, Nassaukade 25III, resp. Nieuwe Gietersstraat 1II.

Daaruit o.a. lid Programmaraad NPS en adviesraad NICAM/ Kijkwijzer.
- 1999 Juni getrouwd te Amsterdam; huwelijk ontbonden juli 2000.
