Medeasblik was one of four burgs in [[West Fleeland]], in the times of [[Adela]]. It was located three poles, or a half tide north of the [[Alderga and Aldergamouth|Aldergamouth]] with its [[Treasureburg]]. In the times of Frethorik, the burg was destroyed by water in what must have been a cataclysmic event.

The name can be related to the city [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medemblik_(stad) Medemblik], but as with many toponyms that seem to have modern equivalents, the location may not be exactly the same.

Radboud zou woedend zijn geweest op een priester Wigbert die de tempel had laten verwoesten en veel mensen had gedoopt. Ook in de Batavia van Junius, geschreven tussen 1567 en 1575, is een versie van dit verhaal te lezen (zonder dat Wigbert wordt genoemd) maar Junius vertelt er wel bij dat het een volksgeloof is.

Nog grappiger is dat de Italiaan de naam van onze stad heeft afgeleid van het vergulde standbeeld van Medea. Dit beeld zou ‘blikkeren’ in de zon en men zei dan gewoonlijk: ‘Medea blickt’.
