Jan: I think their silly noises are already covered by work, work!; In Kiliaan (Etymologicum Teutonicae Linguae, 1599), "Kluchte" is defined as Ludicrum, res ludricra, res iocularis: mimus. & Fabula, apologus, facetiae, acroama, ludicra narratio, inauditiuncula, so something like play or joke would be more justifiable.

Current translation (April 2023): Frogs cry: “work, work!”, though they do nothing but hop and fool about.
